Due to the gale watch that is forecast from Friday through Saturday morning, the 2021 GIYC Day Race is postponed to 11:00 AM Sunday, May 30, 2021. Based on current forecasts, it is expected that the sea state will prevent the race committee boat effectively running the race.
You must register for this race on the GIYC sailors website: https://sites.google.com/view/giycsailors/adult-racing
This will be a medium distance race in Lake Erie. (17~28 Nm)
The course will be a triangle, adjusted by the race committee in accordance with the weather conditions.
Course marks may include the WNATRs Buoys, Lake Erie navigation buoys, and the Detroit Freighter Channel Markers.
The race will be followed by an after-glow at GIYC.
